Early game consists of you looking around the map and planning the design of your bar, after that place the main entrance gate facing the street then continue by destroying dirt blocks to fit your desired design. While the dirt blocks are being destroyed you can start setting the floor/roof/wall materials, after that you can continue placing the essentials; a bar(table), a ale cask and the cellar stairs. After you have done this you will have to hire a barkeep and assign him to a bar. Now you may order ale then bring it upstairs from the cellar to your ale cask and you are all set to open your tavern to the public and start making gold!
Mid game will be were you have to maintain your tavern by ordering different ales, cleaning up, serving drinks, expanding your tavern, reacting to events accordingly, placing different furniture items to increase the joy of your customers thus earning you more gold and hiring different employees to do different tasks.
Building is the most important part of the game, creating a bigger tavern will increase the amount of costumers you can handle, allowing you to gain more profit from selling ale. Having dirt walls/floors/roofs will lower your employee's and customer's joy, increasing the risk of something bad happening. Trapping customers/employees with furniture might not be a smart move either.
Your barkeeps are the ones in charge of handling ale out to costumers, you may have different types of ales behind the barkeep to compliment the taste of different customers, however when a cask runs out, somebody needs to head down to the cellar to grab another cask and carry it to the barkeep.
Every strategy game requires this window that displays many different statistics for the player to view, allowing the player to make the right decisions at the right time.
